Facilities and services for those requiring assisted travel at the airport

Your accessible airport guide

If you’ve pre-booked assistance, please proceed to our Assisted Travel Reception located in Terminal 2.

For assistance from your vehicle or public transport, you’ll find Assistance Call Points in our car parks, drop-off areas, and at the Ground Transportation Interchange. Our team members are always ready to provide support.

Once you register at the Assisted Travel Reception, you can ask for help to reach the check-in desks or go there on your own.

After completing your bag drop or online check-in, we’ll guide you through security to the departure lounge, where you can shop, dine, and relax at your leisure.

Our Assisted Travel Lounge is conveniently located in the Departure Lounge of Terminal 2. Our welcoming staff are ready to assist you during your wait and ensure a smooth journey to your boarding gate.

When it’s time to board, the staff will evaluate your needs to ensure a comfortable boarding experience. If you prefer, explore the lounge areas and proceed to the gate at your convenience.

Security

Aviation Security Officers are trained to assist and support individuals with disabilities. All Security Search Areas provide private search spaces, along with walking aids and seating to assist passengers through body scanners when required.

For your convenience, you may keep medication, liquids, and large electronic items inside your hand luggage during security checks.

Lost or damaged mobility aids

If your mobility aid is damaged or lost upon arrival, immediately report it to the airline or baggage services before leaving the baggage reclaim area. At Manchester Airport, most airlines rely on Global Baggage Solutions to handle such matters.

If you require a temporary wheelchair to get home, contact the airport staff or the Assisted Travel team. They can help arrange a loan wheelchair, though it may differ from your own.

Try the airport experience
