How to make your transfer at Manchester Airport quickly and easily for connecting flights

Transferring between terminals

Due to current airline terminal allocations, there are no direct transfer facilities between Terminal 2 and Terminal 3.

If you are transferring between these terminals, you will need to follow the arrivals process by passing through the UK Border, collecting your hold luggage, and then proceeding to the correct terminal for your onward flight. There, you will need to complete the departure process, including check-in and security screening.

Manchester Airport’s terminals are located close to each other, making this process straightforward. The walk between Terminal 2 and Terminal 3 typically takes between 5 and 15 minutes, with moving walkways available throughout parts of the route to assist passengers.

Transferring in Terminal 2

Terminal 2 has two dedicated Flight Transfer Centres, allowing passengers to connect between flights without leaving the secure (airside) area. Eligible passengers can follow a direct route to the departure lounge for their onward flights, without passing through the UK Border or collecting hold luggage, as it will be checked through to their final destination automatically.

These facilities are designed to streamline connections between airlines operating within Terminal 2, helping to provide a smooth and efficient journey.

You can use this service if your flights are booked as part of a single ticket that includes a transfer. To confirm your eligibility, please contact your airline directly, as not all airlines participate in the airport’s transfer services.

If you have booked your flights separately to create your own connection, you will need to complete both the arrivals and departures processes. This includes passing through the UK Border, collecting your hold luggage on arrival, checking in again for your onward flight, and completing security screening before departure.

Transferring in Terminal 3

Terminal 3 is a single-airline terminal, operated exclusively by Ryanair. Please note that Ryanair does not provide transfer services.
