From Tuesday 10th July, Manchester Airport is introducing a tarriff for dropping off. Please select the group you belong to from the list below, for information about charges, directions and process.
All passengers can use our free drop off area, from which a shuttle bus will transport you free of charge to your terminal.
There will be frequent shuttle buses, with journey times ranging from five to seven minutes, depending on the terminal you are travelling to. These services will be operated to a 24hour daily schedule with marshals on hand to assist. Please see terms and conditions of the free drop off area.
Alternatively, you can choose to be dropped off directly outside the terminals and train station. The charge for this is £3 for five minutes and £4 for 10 minutes. Staying for longer than 10 minutes is not permitted.
The system will include ANPR (automatic number plate recognition) in and a barrier system out, with payment taken at the barrier by card (contactless and chip & pin) or cash (sterling). Please see terms and conditions of the paid drop off zone.
The changes that we are introducing only impact those dropping-off. The process for picking-up passengers remains the same – passengers can be picked-up in the arrivals car parks and multi-storey car parks with a charge of £4 for 30 minutes. We will have staff on hand to direct those dropping-off and picking-up to the right places.
Manchester Airport offers a Private Hire Concession Card which offers private hire drivers up to a 40% discount on the published forecourt and car park prices.
Local residents who work at, or commute from, the Ground Transport Exchange (Train/Bus Station) and who live in certain postcode areas, are able to apply for an annual permit, giving them free drop-off and pick-up access for The Station, subject to payment of the application fee set out below.
Passengers who hold a valid blue badge will be able to access the forecourt areas, free of charge, for drop-off only. To avail of this service, the travelling passenger must produce their blue badge to the traffic marshals when entering the forecourt area.
