Tiny, tropical Tobago is somewhere to slow things right down. Said to be the inspiration behind Daniel Defoe’s Robinson Crusoe, it’s all about the beautiful bare necessities, with ancient rainforest and jaw-dropping beaches. No island was more fought over in the colonial era – the island changed hands some 32 times - making it a colourful jumble of cultural influences with fiery cuisine and buckets of soul.
