Parking at Gatwick

Book the ideal parking space at London Gatwick Airport

Train to Manchester Airport

London Gatwick Airport has lots of different parking options to suit anyone visiting, including those looking to drop-off friends and family. If you’re planning a trip to the airport, our parking partners have a few helpful tips that you should consider.

Parking at London Gatwick Airport

With drop-off sections on the lower levels of either terminal, it’s super-easy to take your passengers right up to the relevant door. However, the drop off zones can be very busy and there are a few other options if you’d like a little more time with friends and family. Short-stay carparks are available at both the North and South Terminals and are only a 5 minute walk away from each. Alternatively, you can also use the long stay carparks, which are completely free for the first 2 hours and have regular shuttle buses which ferry passengers from the carpark to the doors of the terminal.

Each of Gatwick’s terminals has a large short-stay parking area within 5 minutes of the doors. They’re covered, multi-storey buildings with CCTV and security operating around the clock. There’s no minimum stay, so they’re perfect for drop-offs and pick-ups.

As the airport is so big, each carpark is in its own post code:

South Terminal short-stay parking (car park 3 (orange)): RH6 0LL

North Terminal short-stay parking (car park 5): RH6 0PJ

With buses running every 10-15 minutes at any time of day, long-stay parking is a great option for those looking to leave their car at the airport. You aren’t restricted by your airline, as the shuttle services allow you to go to either terminal no matter which dedicated parking area you’re in.

Each carpark has its own post code, making it super-easy to find:

South Terminal long-stay parking: RH6 0LL

North Terminal long-stay parking: RH6 0RN

If you’re looking for a stress-free way to start your holiday, you can avoid the carparks entirely by driving up to a professional valet service within a 4 minute walk of the terminal. The valets will also ensure that your car is waiting for you as you leave the terminal when exiting the airport.

For those who want the best parking experience, London Gatwick Airport offers a premium parking service by either terminal. These sections are extremely close to the terminal entrance and are regularly patrolled by airport security.

While you can drive up and park for short stays if spaces are available, London Gatwick Airport can only ensure you get a space if you book at least 24 hours before you arrive.

Every on-site carpark has a special section for Blue Badge holders. However, London Gatwick doesn’t offer discounts on stays of any length. While there is no need to leave your Blue Badge in the car while you’re away, you will need to show it to the attendant before leaving your vehicle.

  • Use long-stay carparks for pickups and drop-offs: If you do not want to pay to collect or leave your passengers at the terminal then use the long-stay carpark as it's entirely free.

  • It doesn’t matter which terminal you park at: With regular shuttles between terminals, you can often save by parking at the opposite terminal to the one you require.

  • Gatwick is especially busy in the mornings: Peak time is normally between 6am-12pm so make sure to avoid journeys around this time if you want to beat the rush or avoid airport traffic.
