Pick up and drop off information for private hire operators.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Please note that the office will relocating in early May 2022, actual date to be confirmed

The office is now closed for a minimum of 4 week and will be online via email only.

During this time there will be NO NEW PERMITS issued but we will accept renewals via email and registration changes, also any other queries you have about your concession card

Please keep a look out on our website with relevant information on when the new office will be open and where we are locating to.

Private Hire Concession Cards

Manchester Airport offers a Private Hire Concession Card which offers private hire drivers up to a 40% discount on the published forecourt and car park prices.

Forecourt Office Opening Times:

Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday & Friday: 08:00 to 16:00 (closed for Lunch 11:45 to 12:30)

Closed Public and Bank Holidays

Please note that the above days and times can change without notice due to staff illness or unforeseen circumstances.

How to apply for your Concession Card

To apply for a concession card, you will be required to produce:

  • Your valid private hire licence badge or valid PSV licence.

  • Your valid driving licence.

  • Operator’s Licence (where applicable)

  • Planning application/Approval (where applicable)

  • A valid form of photographic ID (passport or driving licence and counterpart or private hire badge with photograph)

  • A copy of your vehicle insurance.

  • Your current stored value card (where applicable)

  • A completed application form, together with payment.

To reduce the handling of mobile devices, wherever possible the required documents should be hard copies.

Applications and renewals will be charged at £30 (incl. VAT); payment can be made with a debit or credit card.

How to change your registration

If you wish to change your registration, please email forecourtmanagement@magairports.com with your:

  • Name

  • Old registration

  • New Registration

  • A copy of a valid insurance document for the new registration

  • A copy of your Driving Licence or Passport, for identification.

There is a free drop off zone located at Jet Parks 1 which is clearly signposted.

Pick up for Over Height or Long wheel-based vehicles

Terminal 1 – Drop Off – T1 Lower Forecourt. Pick Up - T1 Arrivals
Terminal 2 – Drop Off and Pick Up - Over Height Car Park – Over Height vehicles only.
Terminal 2 – Drop Off and Pick Up – T2 West – Long Wheel Based vehicles less than 2m high
Terminal 3 – Drop Off and Pick Up – T3 Forecourt

Alternatively, you can visit Coach Transport Operations Centre where you can pay for a permit to access the Controlled Bus lanes within the Terminal Forecourts.

Private Hire Holding Area

A dedicated Area for drivers of private hire vehicles has been made available at JetParks 1.

This area is for private hire vehicles to wait for passengers prior to picking up from a short stay car park and meeting at an agreed location within the terminal.

Facilities include:

  • Hot drinks machine

  • Indoor seating

  • Toilets

  • Flight Information Display screens.

The Area is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

The following fees will apply from 21st November 2019 and are payable upon exit of the Area:

Up to 1 hour - £1.00

1 - 2 hours - £1.50

2 - 3 hours - £2.00

After 3 hours vehicles must leave the Area or re-circulate back into the Area. If any vehicle exceeds the 3-hour maximum stay, a £50 overstay charge shall be payable with an additional £50 per day charge being incurred thereafter.

Vehicles should enter through the entry barrier at JetParks1, and proceed through a second entry barrier to the Private Hire Holding Area.

Pick up for Over Height or Long wheel-based vehicles


Terminal 1 – Drop Off – T1 Lower Forecourt. Pick Up - T1 Arrivals
