Family Parking FAQs

When’s the best time to book airport parking for family holidays?

For the best price and to guarantee availability, we’d suggest booking as early as you can. Prices are usually lower the earlier you book.

Are there any discounts available on parking for families?

There's no discount, but regular discounts can be accessed through our CRM signup, so better to just point towards the general discounts signup.

Is there free cancellation on parking bookings?

Yes, up to 72 hours before booked arrival. Cancellation protection can be purchased at the time of booking, allowing greater flexibility to cancel up to 1 hour before entry time.

Do I need to change my booking if my flight time changes?

If your travel plans change, it’s best to update your parking booking. You can amend it for free up to 72 hours before your flight, or up to 1 hour before with cancellation protection.

Small time changes (1–2 hours) usually won’t matter if it’s the same day. But for Drop & Go and Meet & Greet parking, we recommend updating your arrival and exit times, as drivers are scheduled around these.

Which car park is best when travelling with a pushchair and lots of luggage?

Travelling with kids, a pushchair and lots of bags? Choosing the right airport parking can make things much easier, especially if you need space to unload and time to get organised.

Families often prefer:

  • Multi Storey: Park and walk straight into the terminal. Close, step-free, and often more room near lifts to sort your buggy and bags.
  • Meet & Greet: Easiest option. Pull up outside Terminal 2, unload everything, and head straight in — no parking or transfers.
  • Drop & Go: A hassle-free alternative to Meet & Greet, with a short transfer to Terminal 2 or a walkable route to Terminal 3.
  • JetParks: A more affordable option with frequent, accessible bus transfers. Fine with a folded pushchair, but can feel less easy with lots of luggage. Best for families who don’t mind a short ride.

If you’re travelling alone with children, look out for wider bays or parent and child spaces. They give you more room to move and make things a lot less stressful.

Are shuttle buses suitable for buggies and children?

Yes, shuttle buses at airport car parks are suitable for families travelling with children and buggies. They run regularly and have space for luggage and folded buggies, though it may take a little extra time to get everyone on board.

A few things that can make it easier:
  • Fold your buggy before the bus arrives, if you can
  • Keep essentials like snacks, wipes and boarding passes close to hand
  • Allow a bit of extra time so you’re not rushing
  • Ask staff if you need help – they’re usually happy to assist

If you’re travelling with lots of luggage or a bulky buggy, you may find it easier to choose airport parking options like Meet & Greet or Multi Storey, where you can walk straight to the terminal without using a shuttle bus.

What if getting kids out of the car takes longer than expected?

Don’t worry — extra time is built in. We know travelling with children can take longer than planned, especially with bags and buggies to manage.
Grace periods apply to all airport parking bookings:

  • Arrive up to 4 hours earlier than your booked time
  • Leave up to 6 hours later

A few tips to make things easier:

  • Aim to arrive a little earlier than you think you need
  • Pack a small “grab bag” with essentials, so you’re not searching through luggage
  • Take a moment to get everyone ready before heading into the terminal

This way, you can take things at your own pace without feeling rushed.

Are there disabled parking spaces for families, and what makes them helpful?

Accessible parking is available across Manchester Airport car park, helping families with a disabled member travel more easily.

These bays are wider than standard spaces, making it easier to fully open doors, get children in and out, and set up pushchairs without feeling rushed. They’re also typically located closer to terminal entrances, lifts, or transfer points, helping reduce the distance you need to travel with luggage.

If you’re travelling with a Blue Badge holder, it’s best to check your parking option in advance to ensure you choose the most convenient and accessible location for your journey.
