Manchester has become a hub for Chinese New Year in Britain, as it boasts the 3rd largest Chinese population in the country, and the airport is no different. On the 5th of February, we’ll be hosting a series of exciting oriental festivities throughout the airport and we’d like to invite all guests to take part:
Watch A Traditional Lion Dance In The Terminal
February 5th
(8:30-11:00)
Enjoy a traditional Lion Dance, performed by JinLong, to ward off evil spirits while you’re waiting for your flight. As the Lion dances throughout the terminal, there will be free Chinese snacks and even a pig, for the year of the boar, handing out lucky envelopes.

Listen to the Manchester Airport Choir
February 5th
(10:00-11:00)
To celebrate the New Year, the Manchester Airport Choir will be performing Gong Xi and other traditional Chinese pieces welcoming the year of the boar.
If you’re not going to be travelling through the airport on February 5th you can still get involved in plenty of ways by clicking here and, on behalf of Manchester Airport, we’d like to wish you a fantastic New Year filled with good fortune.
