About Billund

Right in the middle of Denmark's Jutland Peninsula

Billund is a company town dedicated to small, brightly coloured plastic blocks. Lego has its worldwide headquarters here, and 90% of all the world's Lego is made nearby. This small, perfectly kept town soon gives way to a beautiful hinterland noted for some of Europe's most startling prehistoric finds.

Hotels in Billund

From simple beds to something a bit more memorable, find clean, comfortable and unassumingly stylish accommodation in and around Billund. With Legoland the town's main tourist draw, Hotel Legoland (Aastvej 10), with its Lego-themed rooms, seems the obvious choice for families (and the young at heart) after fun accommodation near the action. Those on a budget can opt for Zleep Hotel (Passager Terminalen 4), which provides simple and functional rooms close to the airport. For relaxation in the countryside, Brunbjerg Apartments (Almstokvej 20) fuse cosy farmhouse ambiance with modern comforts, just a short drive from Billund centre.

Shopping in Billund

Inside Legoland, fans of the little coloured bricks can pick up a vast range of Lego-related toys, clothing, gadgets and quirky souvenirs. While the town itself does have some shops, a more varied retail experience can be enjoyed in Vejle, a city around 30km east of Billund. Over the years, Vejle has evolved from a quiet market town into a bustling urban hub, and its pedestrianised shopping area makes for pleasant wandering. While you're there, check out the city's iconic windmill. In July, don't miss Vorbasse Market - a vast spectacle featuring hundreds of stalls, travelling fairs, pet breeders and more.

Food & Drink in Billund

Billund is no culinary leader, but it has several places for a good feed. Those with kids in tow can satisfy their brood with pizza and ice cream at Ristorante il Bambino (Ellehammers Alle 3). Visitors to the Legoland theme park unsurprisingly have plenty of kid-friendly dining options, such as the Knights' Table grill, the Polar Pizza & Pasta diner next to Penguin Bay, and Wild West flavours in the Saloon. Several good restaurants can be found inside hotels, such as the eateries at Hotel Propellen (Nordmarksvej 3): Restaurant Ruth, Restaurant Ludwig and Restaurant Pejsestuen. Plenty more dining options are available in Vejle.
