The airport’s Drop & Go area is ideal for anyone dropping-off passengers. The area is close to the terminal and offers visitors up to 30 minutes of parking completely free of charge, however, there are steep charges after the free period. There’s also the Premium Set Down carpark, adjacent to the terminal, for those who want to get even closer to the terminal doors. Visitors who are picking up passengers can book a short-stay space in Carparks 1, 2 or 3 for a reasonable price.

There are a few different long-term parking services at Birmingham Airport. The closest to the terminal, and so the most expensive, is the dedicated long-stay parking areas in Carparks 1, 2 and 3. However, those saving their money for a little extra shopping abroad may want to book a space in Carparks 5 or 7 which are a 10-15 minute walk from the terminal.

The perfect start to any holiday, valet parking at Birmingham Airport is located next to Carpark 3. All you have to do is pull up then hand over your keys to the professional valet and you’re all set. When you leave the airport, you’ll alert the valet and they’ll have your car waiting for you.

Birmingham Airport is extremely busy and often runs out of space in several car parks at once. You can still drive up and pay on the day but prices are higher and there is no guarantee that you’ll get a space. It’s recommended that you pre-book to get a reserved space and a better deal.

It’s easy to claim your free hour, simply park as normal, then as you’re leaving show your Blue Badge to the NCP Customer Service Office, where you’ll receive a full refund for an hour of parking.

  • Arrive early: Due to the high volume of passengers, BHX advise that visitors travelling to Europe must arrive a minimum of two hours before their flight. Queues are particularly bad for long-haul flights and so it’s recommended that visitors leave themselves at least 3 hours between their arrival and flight.

  • Book a hotel: If you want to avoid any delays, it’s a good idea to book in the night before your flight at one of the two on-site hotels.

  • Make the most of Drop & Go: Make use of your entire 30 free minutes in the Drop & Go section to guarantee a calm start to your holiday.
