T2 West Multi Storey – P3 is now Barrierless

From 00:01 on 25 March, a new barrierless parking system has been introduced at T2 West Multi Storey - P3, designed to make your journey quicker and easier.

With no barriers on entry or exit, there’s no need to stop, queue, or use an on-site pay station. Simply drive in and out as normal - your vehicle will be recognised automatically. You can then pay for your parking after your visit online, by phone, or automatically using an Auto Pay account.

Barrierless parking is already widely used across Greater Manchester, and many customers may already be familiar with it from Manchester Airport’s own barrierless Drop-Off and Pick-Up zones.

Clear signage and simple, step-by-step guidance are in place throughout the car park to help you use the system with confidence.

When was the new system introduced?

The barrierless system went live on Wednesday 25 March 2026.

What is barrierless parking?

Barrierless parking means there are no barriers on entry or exit and no on-site pay stations. You simply drive in and out as normal and pay for your parking after your visit.

How does the new system work?

When you enter the car park, cameras automatically record your vehicle registration. When you leave, your stay is calculated and you pay afterwards - online, by phone, or automatically if you have an Auto Pay account.

Why are you changing to barrierless parking?

Since most of our airlines moved to Terminal 2 last year, traffic levels around the T2 West Multi-Storey car park have increased. At busy times, this has led to queues at entry and exit barriers, causing delays for customers and adding congestion to the surrounding roads.

Moving to a barrierless parking system removes the need to stop or queue at barriers or pay machines. This helps improve traffic flow, reduce congestion, and create a smoother, quicker experience for customers - especially during peak periods.

Will the tariff increase at T2 West Multi Storey - P3 when barrierless is installed?

There are no plans to increase the tariffs for T2 West Multi Storey in line with this update.
