Data Centre Access

MAG have introduced tighter security controls around access to and operation within the Core Data Centres across the group. Please download the Acceptable Usage Policy below and familiarise yourself with the Request for Access process should you require any access to Core Data Centres on-site.

Networking Services provided include:

  • Wireless Networks provide an effective, flexible and convenient approach to data networking. Avoid using excessive unsightly Ethernet cables to connect your computers, Wireless technology can provide all of your networking requirements at a cost effective price. MAG will design and build your Wireless Network, ensuring that your solution is completely secure and meets your business needs.
  • Virtual Private Networks provide you with a secure environment onto which you can connect your computers. Security is restricted to only those devices connected to a VLAN, ensuring the privacy of your information at all times. Manchester Airports Group (MAG) will install, configure, secure and maintain the infrastructure needed for you to conduct business.

Cable and installation services

Not all IT installations are simple and straight forward. In some cases it is necessary to install network services in unusual places, for example a flight display monitor hanging from the ceiling. This small task can generate a large headache for any IT Manager.

  • MAG has a dedicated team of qualified cable installation engineers. This professional group can easily provide customer network installations that integrate back to a central network.
  • The MAG installation team fulfil diverse requests ranging from the installation of a single network point to the complex installation of fibre-optic cables on the far side of a multi-storey car park. Regardless, you can be assured that the installation will be completed on time and to budget.

Voice services

With a state of the art digital telephone system designed for flexibility and scalability, you can be assured that we have a solution that meets your needs, no matter how complex they may be.

Our voice network transparently connects the three communications groups (fixed telephony, mobile and radio services)together in a resilient ring. Our mobile phone network boasts seamless interoperability with the landline and trunk radio services, whilst remaining an autonomous service.

Fixed Telephony

  • Telephony services are an intrinsic part of any modern business, consequently they need to be reliable and failsafe. MAG has invested heavily to provide a large and robust telephone network. The MAG telephone system is a based on digital technology providing crystal clear communications at all times.
  • All of the services that you would expect from a state of the art feature rich telephone system are available from MAG including:
    • Multiline groups
    • Audio conferencing facilities
    • Interactive Voice services
  • MAG manages and supports your phones on-site, providing fast response to faults from a dedicated Service Desk.
  • Free on site calls to other MAG provided telephones, to partner mobiles and trunked radio systems.
  • Discounted rates against BT charges for calls to none MAG provided phones.

Mobile Communications

MAG’s current mobile communications provider is O2. A dedicated on site support team resident within the Service Management Centre guarantee a swift and efficient response to all service requests.

Providing free calls between the fixed MAG telephones and the trunked radio systems and other T-Mobile phones.

Extensive range of mobile and handheld devices, accessories and services.

Trunk Radio

MAG can offer one of the most comprehensive trunk radio services available.

Services offered range from push to talk to integrated trunked solutions.

Fully interconnected into both the fixed telephony network and the mobile systems allowing for calls to and from each system at no additional cost.

Full support and maintenance of handsets on site included within the contract, giving complete piece of mind to your business users.

Aviation services

MAG offers a number of bespoke PC based solutions around the status of flights and aircraft, providing your business with the information needed to ensure both efficient and cost effective delivery of your services.

MAG will provide a network connected PC, fully configured to the MAG service required, underpinned by dedicated on-site partnerships to provide a comprehensive 24x7 support service for the device.

Aviation Related Services include:

  • CHROMA Chroma is a bespoke solution developed for the central management of an Airport. This application tracks all aircraft, bags and passenger numbers. The application interfaces with all aspects of Airport business to enable you to have the most accurate information relating to the flights.
  • Radar systems indicate when the aircraft is on final approach.
  • ATC indicate when the aircraft is due and actual landing times.
  • Stand allocation indicate where the aircraft is to be parked.
  • Off-loaded bags are tracked to highlight when the first and last bags are available to passengers.
  • Interfaces with baggage systems ensure that all bags are routed to the correct collection point.
  • Baggage reconciliation ensures that no inappropriate bags are placed on the aircraft.
  • Interfaces into Passenger displays ensure that passengers know the appropriate state of the aircraft, when to approach the gate, etc.
  • All views of the aircraft data can be tailored to your specific requirements, ensuring that you receive the clearest view of the information you need.


I-Airport provides a read-only flexible view of aircraft information available via any browser.

Support services

MAG offers low cost IT and support solutions specific to your business needs. Our customers need to be confident that their IT will work from day one. MAG provides proven rapid response maintenance and support tailored to your business and budget.

The IS Service Desk is a 24 hour operation which underpins all support activities, coordinating each support group to ensure all incidents are managed effectively and with minimum disruption to our customers businesses.
