New Metrolink Manchester Airport Line
The Metrolink is planning a 14.5km extension to the new South Manchester line, taking people all the way from the Centre of Manchester to the Airport via Chorlton, Northern Moor, Baguely and Wythenshawe. The line is due to be fully open in 2016 and trams will run every 12 minutes.

Metrolink Current Services
The Metrolink currently runs on four lines out from the city centre towards:
- Altrincham
- Bury
- Eccles
- South Manchester (new stations opened in 2011)
Airport passengers can connect to the Metrolink via rail services between the airport and Manchester Piccadilly and with Arriva bus services 18 and 18A to Altrincham.
