Border Force secures the border and promotes national prosperity by facilitating the legitimate movement of individuals and goods, whilst preventing those that would cause harm from entering the UK.
Please make sure you are in the right queue. British and member states of the European Union or the European Economic Area passport holders should use the EU/EEA queue. Other passport holders should use the non-EU queue. If you are resident in the UK and there is no time limit on your residency (Indefinite Leave to Enter or Remain) and you have fully completed your landing card or if you hold a Certificate of Entitlement to Right of Abode in the UK, you can use the EU queue.

If you are travelling into Terminal 1 or 2 and you are British, from the EEA, Switzerland or Liechtenstein and have a new biometric passport, Instead of queuing to go through passport control, you can make your journey easier by using the e-gates - simply follow the instructions at the gate.
