World Freight Terminal

The North West of England produces approximately 60% of the UK's industrial output, a significant proportion of which is exported.

Our continuously improving World Freight Terminal has expanded to meet the demands of exporters from across the UK, handing over 170,000 tonnes of inbound and outbound freight every year.

Accommodating all types of freight and passenger aircraft, the terminal has truly world-class facilities, supporting global logistics round the clock, including:

  • 550,000 square feet of warehouse and office space
  • 100 freight forwarders and agents on site
  • A dedicated chiller unit
  • A Border Inspection Post
  • Three aircraft maintenance hangars
  • Five transit shed operators: British Airways Regional Cargo, Swissport Cargo Services, Menzies World Cargo, Plane Handling, Servisair

The World Freight Terminal is accessed directly via Junction 6 of the M56 motorway. Located just a quarter of a mile from the exit, it offers direct access to the UK's main north/south motorway.
