Cyprus is nestled in the eastern Mediterranean, just off the south coast of Turkey and north of Africa. It’s close to Western Asia, which means it’s one of the hottest destinations in the Med, so holidays to Larnaca are perfect for you if you love the sun. There’s a fabulous range of holidays to Larnaca from Manchester Airport, whether you're looking to go away with the family, as a couple, or for a party with your friends. Lively Aiya Napa is around 40 minutes away by car, and there’s buses that take partygoers to its bars and clubs. The resort also has an action-packed waterpark that’s great for the whole family. If you’re more interested in sightseeing than partying all night, head to Larnaca’s historic centre which has some lovely old buildings and churches including the Church of Saint Lazarus. 14th century Othello’s Castle meanwhile is another of the Larnaca’s most popular attractions and can be reached by bus in around an hour. The Larnaca Salt Lake lies to the west of the city, and is a fascinating, if somewhat surprising, feature of the local area. At the start of the year you can be lucky enough to see pink flamingoes at the lake. For something a little different head to Varosha in Famagusta, which was once a popular tourist resort. It’s now a deserted open-air museum with empty beaches and hotels as well as home to nesting sea turtles. If the sun’s shining and you simply want to sit back and relax on the beach, Manchester to Larnaca holidays are also ideal for this.
