Moscow is a sightseers dream, from architecture and a wealth of statues, to buildings such as St Basil’s Cathedral to Stalin’s 1950s skyscrapers.

Must see
- St Basil’s cathedral - at the southern end of Red Square. Incredibly beautiful with an array of colour and mystery – don’t miss the video that gives an in sight into the history behind the cathedral and the city itself.
- Gulag History Museum.
- Gorky Park - Ornamental park/fun fair, festive and quirky.

Shopping in Moscow
Late night bookshops add a literary dimension to a Moscow evening – one with a sizeable English language section is Moskva (4/7 Vozdvizhenka St), open until 1am. For bargains galore and a rainbow of clothes, antiques and trinkets, rummage around the Izmailovo flea market (73 Izmailovskoye Highway), while chic Russian designers can be discovered at the Sunday Upmarket (1st Floor, Tsvetnoy Central Market).

Where to party
All-out partying is a sure fire bet at Propaganda (Bolshoy Zlatoustinskiypereulok, dom 7).

Must eat at
- Glavpivtorg - great pub food - a great place if you love beer - has a good range of beers produced locally. 
- Sky Lounge Restaurant - The best views of Moscow, located on the 22nd floor of the Russian Academy of Sciences building this is a great chilled out place to eat and sock up the city.

When to go
The city is is at its best at festival time - May holidays and September’s City Day on the 4th.
