Must See:
Take a tour of the some of the venues for the 1996 Olympic Games to discover the summer Olympiad, US-style.

Must eat at:
You might not be in Louisiana (it’s not a million miles away, though) but you can eat like a coastal Southerner at Front Page News on Crescent Avenue with gumbo, jambalaya and live jazz on Sundays.

Must be there for:
Visit in June and you’ll hear The Bard as never before... with a drawl from the Deep South, that is, as practised in the Georgia Shakespeare Festival.

Well-travelled tips:
Visit the Underground for bargains – it’s not a tube station but a whole underground market full of funky and unusual stalls.
If you find the city heat oppressive, head out to Lake Lanier, which has a top-notch beach for cooling-off and getting brown.
