Must see:
Don’t leave Prague without first paying homage to Wenceslas Square where tens of thousands jangled their keys together to call for their freedom back in 1989.

Must eat at:
Having struggled (and yearned) for culinary greatness, Prague has upped its game in recent years – and today you can have a truly great meal at Allegro, Maze (by Gordon Ramsay) or La Degustation... and a host of others.

Must be there for:
May and June sees one of Europe’s premier classical music festivals, come to town. The Prague Spring draws symphony and chamber orchestras and solo performers from around the world – not to mention opening and closing performances by the Prague Symphony Orchestra.

Well-travelled tips:
- Generations of composers were inspired, it seems, by the views from the VLTAVA River. Now - Although eminently walkable, Prague’s streets are notoriously cobbled and uneven... so if you intend to walk about, bring a pair of sturdy shoes or trainers and leave the high heels at home.

Visa:
British citizens do not need a visa to visit the Czech Republic.
