Manchester - Stansted Service Enhanced
North of England travellers will
benefit from extra flights and improved business-led timings when new carrier
Eastern Airways commences its Manchester – Stansted service from the
winter season.
The UK
regional airline will succeed Air Berlin on the route from 29 October
2007, introducing increased frequency with three flights each weekday
to Stansted and offering an early morning departure (7.15am) from Manchester
aimed at business commuters.
With a
choice of up to 15 flights a week from Manchester to Stansted,
the service will appeal to both business and leisure travellers heading to
Cambridgeshire, Essex, Hertfordshire and Suffolk. Weekday flights will depart from Manchester at 7.15am,
2.20pm and 5.50pm, arriving in Stansted at 8.10am, 3.15pm and 6.45pm. Services from Stansted will take off at
8.45am, 4pm and 7.20pm, landing in Manchester at 9.50am, 5.05pm and
8.25pm.
Eastern Airways is no stranger to flying between Manchester and
Stansted after successfully operating its punctual service for three years
until 2006, when it withdrew from the niche route as Air Berlin
started services. Now that the
German low cost carrier has withdrawn its services, Eastern Airways has stepped
in to rescue the route.

Holliday, Eastern Airways’ chief operating officer, said: “This announcement is
great news for travellers in the North of England as we are not only ensuring a
continuation of this important link, but are providing an enhanced schedule
with greater flexibility for business and leisure travellers. The convenience of our early 7.15am
departure from Manchester will ensure business passengers can maximise their
day in the South East.”

Eastern Airways has operated services from Manchester Airport since 2003 and also offers two flights each weekday from the airport to Inverness.
