City has lift off at Terminal 3
MANCHESTER City Football Club has, for the first time in Manchester Airport’s history, converted a lift into a super deluxe Platinum Box.
The lift, situated in Terminal 3, has been given a radical overhaul to reflect City’s £1.5m pre-season transformation of the Club’s corporate hospitality offer.
Stainless steel walls have been swapped for bright, ceiling to floor graphics depicting the interior of the Platinum Box – a stylish concept set to be rolled out to all 66 boxes during the close season.
And they’ll even be unrivalled pitch side views, with business travellers greeted with a life size view from the stands as they travel floor-to-floor.
Either side of this, there’s floor to ceiling graphics of the box itself – complete with walnut panels displaying pictures of City Legends, high glass tables and walnut poseur stools, together with a bar area, LCD TV and backlit feature display shelf.
David Chell, Head of Sales at Manchester City Football Club, said: “With a £1.5m transformation now underway, we thought the lift to the Executive Lounge which is visited by thousands of professionals a year, would be an ideal location to give the local business community a sneak preview of what’s in store for next season.
“Our vision is to exceed expectations, both on and off the pitch. With the new Platinum Boxes, clients can look forward to a premium experience that is unrivalled anywhere else. For anyone wanting to experience the real thing first hand, they are welcome to make an appointment by visiting www.mcfc.co.uk.”
The £1.5m investment also includes a complete overhaul of Legends, the refurbishment of premium dining facility The Boardroom, together with increased Executive seating in the stands (from 250 to 350 seats) – all to be enjoyed by next season’s 75,000 corporate hospitality guests.
Andrew Harrison, Commercial Director for Manchester Airport, said: “Football is what Manchester is famous for and Manchester City continue to be a strong ambassador for our city. With both Manchester teams playing in Europe next year, we expect to see many more supporters using Manchester Airport’s facilities.”
