Must See:
Tours Cathedral (St Gatien’s) is a stunning masterpiece of medieval architecture. It took nearly 400 years to build, between the 12th and 16th centuries and the complicated religious history of France is reflected within the different styles and features of the building itself.

Must Eat At:
Head to the Place Plumereau for a range of cosy pubs, busy restaurants and open air dining options. The picture-postcard square, with its half-timbered houses and colourful cafés, is the perfect place to sample the fine wines and rich cuisine that France is famed for.

Must Be There For:
The flea market at the Boulevard Beranger, which takes place the first Sunday of every month, is a chance to get your hands on some fine boutique and antique goods. The Boulevard is also host to flower and craft markets on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

Well-Travelled Tips:
As this is a new destination, we’d love to hear you travel tips.

Did you know?
The Museé de Beaux Arts in Tours is home to Fritz, a stuffed elephant from the Barnum & Bailey Circus. He went mad in 1902 and had to be shot, but the citizens of tours honoured him by having him stuffed and put on display.

Airport Information:
Tours Loire Valley Airport is 6km north of the city. There is a regular bus shuttle to the city centre that costs €5 and takes about 20 minutes
