New Escape Lounge opens at Manchester Airport
Manchester Airport’s new Escape Lounge in Terminal 1 has opened to the public today. Over 100,000 passengers are expected to use the facility every year.
The £1.7 million investment was officially unveiled for the first time and passengers were able to see the design, which includes separate areas for relaxation and business, including a self-contained meeting or private function room.
Mosaic Hospitality was recently announced as the caterer for the new Escape Lounge and will be providing customers with a wide choice of refreshments and freshly made light meals.
Andrew Harrison, Commercial Director for Manchester Airport, said: ”We set out to create a lounge which would stand out but which also had a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere. Our aim was to create a memorable experience for both our business and leisure passengers with great ambiance, service and food made to order, and we have incorporated some quirky touches such as the Scalextric track and Wii which will appeal to all ages, and hopefully help our customers to really enjoy the start of their journey.”
The new Terminal 1 Escape Lounge at Manchester Airport was initially announced in April 2010 alongside the launch of the ‘The Travel Extras Store’ on Manchester’s website. The airport already has an Escape offering in Terminal 2 and hopes to launch a third in Terminal 3 in the near future.
Manchester Airport unveiled over £80 million worth of improvements across its three terminals only last year in the Summer of 2009. Alongside the opening of the new lounge today, the airport also has plans to introduce a Control Tower Bar to Terminal 1 to a vacant tower facility by the end of the year.
Customers can book into the new lounge at manchesterairport.co.uk or by phone on 0871 200 4450.
