School and college visits for all levels from Year 10 to GCSE and A level students
Lectures cover a number of subjects including:
- Customer Service
- Handling Air Passengers
- The Business of Manchester Airport
- How the Airport uses ICT to handle its business
- The Environment
Other topics and areas of study can be covered after discussion with the teacher/tutor, but we recommend that only one subject is chosen for any visit.
The visit lasts two hours : the lecture and a relevant PowerPoint presentation will be held in either the lecture room at the Concorde Conference Centre or on board our DC10 classroom. We will also relate a short history of the airport and give the latest facts as to its present position in the economic well being of the North West of England.
We recommend that students come with notebooks/clip boards and paper and pens. It really is impossible to remember all the facts you will have been given. Photography is allowed in all areas of the The Runway Visitor Park.
Depending on the weather you will explore the Runway Visitor Park where you will have the opportunity to see the two runways in use and aircraft on site. You may also be able to see Concorde in its new hangar provided no other event connected with this aircraft is taking place.
The cost per student is £7.50. Also a guided tour of one hour at the Terminal complex is available at a small extra cost of £25 per guide for the hour.
