Christmas treats at Manchester Airport

14th December 2011

It’s not often that people put the words bargains and airports in the same sentence but Manchester Airport is trying to change that with its Christmas retail campaign.
The airport has invested heavily in its retail offering over the last two years with the final improvements being unveiled this year in Terminal 3. Following in the footsteps of Terminals 1 and 2, Terminal 3 was given a makeover with passengers deciding what improvements were needed. Over £2 million was invested in Terminal 3’s redesign in addition to the £100 million investment in redeveloping Terminals 1 and 2 since the start of the project.

Over the Christmas period, over 670,000 passengers will use Manchester Airport’s facilities and retailers on site are welcoming them by offering up to 20% off on fashion labels including in Terminal 1 in outlets like TM Lewin, Fat Face, Kurt Geiger, Biza (T2 also), Attitude, Temptation (T2 also), JD Sports (T2 also), Mango, Timberland, Next and Alpha in Terminal 3. Many of the outlets stock recognized brands including Superdry, Diesel, White Stuff & Hugo Boss.

There will also be offers of up to 40% off certain fragrances including Chanel to Dolce & Gabanna. New outlets on site include Jo Malone and Next to ensure that a wide range of options are available for those looking to shop before a flight.

Caroline Plant, Marketing Director for Manchester Airport, said: “We often find that passengers are surprised by the range of the retail offer at Manchester Airport but it’s an important of what we offer our customers. There’s a strong roster of brand names here that often provide a wide selection of savings against the High Street, and that’s important at this time of year as Christmas approaches and there’s lots of presents to buy. We want to help passengers hence why there are options to pick up products on the way home and these services can make Christmas shopping a bit easier for many of our customers.”
