Blue Islands launch direct route to Jersey
Channel Islands based airline, Blue Islands today announce their plans to fly direct from Manchester Airport to Jersey with onward connections to Guernsey. The daily flights will commence on 31st October 2011, bookings can be made now at www.blueislands.com and fares start from £49.00 including all taxes and charges.
Blue Islands are the airline with a welcome difference. The truly unique pricing policy pioneered by the airline allows passengers to book flights with no hidden charges whatsoever. No charges to carry baggage or for excess baggage, no charges to book using a debit or credit card and free changes to tickets (names and flights) provide a refreshing change to all passengers on all flights.
Direct, daily flights to Jersey mean that the beauty and tranquillity of the Channel Islands are only just over an hour away. Guernsey is then a short 15 minute flight and passengers remain on the aircraft to connect through. The flight time of 1215 allows passengers an alternative flight time and avoids early morning departures.
Rob Veron, Managing Director of Blue Islands is delighted to begin flying from Manchester Airport. He said: “I look forward to welcoming new passengers living in and around Greater Manchester and hope that they enjoy Blue Islands and our ‘welcome difference’ brand values. These are hugely popular with our passengers – no baggage charges, no debit or credit card charges and free ticket changes provide passengers with huge flexibility without having to pay any hidden charges. We believe in clear, honest and transparent pricing coupled with excellent customer service. Jersey is the ideal location for taking a break out of the city – stunning views, cliff walks, tax free shopping and of course the renowned beaches make for an excellent last minute, long weekend break”
Mr. Veron continued: “Manchester is a key UK destination for Channel Island passengers who use the airport as a gateway to the North of England, therefore it is important that this route remains to serve the market demand.”
Founded in 2006, Blue Islands connects the Channel Islands to a number of UK and European destinations including Southampton, Zurich, Geneva, Isle of Man and more recently London City, Bristol and Manchester.
Andrew Harrison, Manchester Airport's Managing Director, said: “Blue Islands are new to Manchester and I’m very pleased that they have chosen to operate services from here, once again demonstrating the attractiveness of Manchester to airlines. The Channel Islands are very popular destinations and we know that our passengers will be pleased that these remain part of our network. Blue Islands brings ‘welcome differences’ of no baggage or card charges, which will make a real impact. I’m sure that this service will be very successful and I look forward to working with Blue Islands.”
