Keeping in Touch

We are committed to staying in touch with our community. To help provide the best possible service to the people who live in our neighbourhood, we hold regular Community Outreach 'surgeries' across the area, giving local residents the opportunity to raise queries and ask questions of members of our Community Relations Team.

Our Community Relations Team are on hand for face-to-face discussions about issues such as aircraft noise, the Sound Insulation Grant Scheme and Vortex Repair Scheme, our Community Trust Fund, public transport access and our environmental policies.

We also publish regular eNews throughout the year to keep the local community in touch with the latest developments at the Airport. We keep the community aware of temporary operational changes such as runway closures.

Community Review
Our Community Review 2013/2014 summarises how we work with our neighbouring communities and details some of the activities Airport colleagues have been involved in over the last twelve months. We hope that you will appreciate the wide range of activities we have developed.

Outreach Surgeries
A weekly surgery is held every Tuesday*:

Knutsford Library 09.30 - 12.15 hrs
Knutsford Library 13.15 - 17:00 hrs
At Knutsford an extended evening session is held on the first Tuesday of every month 12:00-19:00 hrs.
*Due to the Christmas holidays we will not be at Knutsford Library on Tuesday 23rd and 30th December 2014 but will return with a 12:00-19:00 hrs session on Tuesday 6th January 2015.

The Community Relations Team has a permanent stand at the library offering a selection of information about runway operations, our night-time noise policy, community schemes and the Community Trust Fund.

Mobile Outreach events
We have now completed our 2014 Mobile Outreach programme; we have held sixteen events across Cheshire and Greater Manchester representing:

  • 91 hours of availability; including 18 hours of evening availability.
  • Meeting 5,313 people.
  • An investment of 227 hours by Manchester Airports Group colleagues.
