Must see:
Don’t leave town without visiting Belem – the district that has it all. With a modern art gallery, a beautiful river frontage, and several monuments and towers, you could happily spend all day here.

Must eat at:
Eating out in Lisbon offers an embarrassment of riches. But, for the view alone, head to Panorama at sunset and eat out as the sun dips below the horizon. Great quality cooking (and pretty good value) is a welcome bonus.

Must be there for:
Lisbon sizzles in mid-summer, and so it’s perhaps no surprise that the city needs to let its hair down. June is no exception, with the Feasts of the Popular Saints resulting in a citywide outpouring for each of Antonio (12/13 June), John (23/24 June) and Peter (28/29 June). Take your pick.

Well-travelled tips:
If you’re staying for a short period and intending to do a lot, the Lisboa Card makes perfect sense. It offers free access to public transport and free (or cut-price) entry to many attractions.
Cross the river from Lisbon to Targus (and back again) by boat and bring your camera... it’s a perfect photo opp.
