Manchester Airport Transformation Programme passenger notice - changes to Terminal 2

As part of the £1bn redevelopment of Manchester Airport we are making some changes to the facilities in and around Terminal 2 over the next couple of years. These will include some changes to where passengers drop off, pick up and park, along with some minor alterations to the road network.

From Thursday 19th October 00.01, the departures forecourt at Terminal 2 will no longer be accessible for passenger drop off. Passengers will be directed to a new departures forecourt which will be located on the ground floor of the multi-storey. Please note that the height-restriction for this drop-off facility is 2.0m. Vehicles above this height can use the over-height car park or other suitable car parking products, see website for more information.

There will be plenty of signage directing you but please leave some extra time for your journey if you are not familiar with the airport layout.

Passengers who require a disabled bay in the multi-storey car park will find them located on levels 1, 2 and 3. There is plenty of signage to help you find your way and the postcode remains M90 4ZY.

If you have any questions about this or the programme in general then please contact 0800 042 0213.

Styal Road Closure 07/08/17 for 12 weeks

Styal Road will close with effect from 09:00 on Monday 7th August for a period of approximately 12 weeks. This closure, between HMP Styal and the junction with Cliff Road and Lacey Green in Wilmslow, is being carried out by Electricity North West and is due to essential repair works.

Traffic coming from the airport will still be able to access Jet Parks 3 car parks on Styal Road, and the transfer bus route is unaffected. Traffic coming from Wilmslow will need to follow diversions via Handforth (

We recommend that all passengers allow extra time to reach the airport as the diversions may cause traffic delays around the airport site.
