Book Your Last Minute Summer Holiday Today

Looking for a last minute getaway that guarantees sun? Then look no further than these three destinations from Manchester Airport that have something for everyone, whether you want to relax on the beach or experience a once in a lifetime adventure. Where will your last minute summer holiday take you?

Orlando

Orlando

For many, the ultimate family summer holiday means a trip to Orlando's Walt Disney World to make new memories with Minnie and Mickey. It’s not just about families or Disney though: as the ‘Theme Park Capital of the World’, Orlando also has Universal Studios, SeaWorld and Legoland to offer, providing enough entertainment for a real trip of a lifetime.

If theme parks aren’t your thing, why not try an airboat ride through the Florida Everglades or a trip to a gator park? And, for those who aren’t afraid of heights, Orlando boasts the US’s first zipline roller coaster. To leave the hair-raising adventures behind for a while, Orlando has numerous golf courses and spas, where you can enjoy something a little more relaxing before heading out to one of the city’s many bars and restaurants. Finally, a holiday in Orlando wouldn’t be complete without a trip to the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex, where interactive displays bring American space exploration to life.

Alicante

Just two hours from Manchester, Alicante offers a world of possibilities for the perfect summer holiday. If relaxing in the sun is on the agenda, Alicante is just a short hop from the Costa Blanca’s best beaches, from the sandy shores of Benidorm, to Calpe, where you can soak up the rays against the backdrop of the stunning Penon De Ifach rock face. For a little more adventure, the Aqualandia waterpark is well worth a visit.

Alicante itself offers a great day’s shopping in department store El Corte Ingles, while for something more unique, try the historic village of Altea's arts and crafts markets. Benidorm’s nightlife is infamous, so if you fancy a raucous night out try one of the town’s many nightclubs. And, if you visit at the end of June, you’ll experience the San Juan fiesta, where locals celebrate the start of summer with fireworks, street parties and burning huge cardboard figures.

Cancun

Cancun

If you’re looking to go a little further afield, Cancun, with its 22km of white sandy beaches and azure waters, is a great choice. You could easily spend the whole break lying on the beach sipping cocktails, but there are amazing spots for snorkelling, surfing or swimming with dolphins for those looking for an adventure.

There’s much more to Cancun than its beaches though, and a visit to Chichen Itza, home to ruins of Mayan temples and pyramids, is a must for history lovers. Highlights include the Warriors' Temple, El Castillo and El Caracol. Cancun is also home to some stunning natural wonders; there are numerous sinkholes, called cenotes, where you can swim underground surrounded by limestone rock. Other daytime activities include a trip to one of the city’s golf courses, spas or flea markets. Cancun is also famous for its nightlife, and there many clubs, including the Mandala Cancun, where you can dance the night away.
