Holidays to Murcia will whisk you to the capital of the Region of Murcia which stretches back inland from Spain’s southeast coast. There’s lovely relaxed vibes and an easy pace of life here that you can discover with holidays to Murcia from Manchester. There’s plenty to do in and around the city, which has a fabulous reputation among foodies. Murcia has excellent tapas that is rated among the best in Spain, flecked with Moorish influences and Moroccan spices. Work up an appetite with some sightseeing at the city’s cathedral, the Palacio del Almudi, or the Iglesia de San Esteban. The Salzillo Museum is dedicated to the famous sculptor, and you can see incredible works depicting angels and biblical figures. You may prefer to spend the day hitting the beach, in which case there’s some lovely ones that remain untouched. Try the sandy strips between Mazarron and Aguilas for something nice and quiet, or La Manga for something a little more lively. For great views back over Murcia and the surrounding area head to the Moorish castle that’s on top of the Monteagudo mountain, while the La Fuensanta Sanctuary is another spot for lovely views. If you want to explore more of the nearby coastline, hire a car and drive just over half an hour to the ancient port city of Cartagena which was founded over 2,000 years ago by the Carthaginians. Alternatively, cruise along the coast and keep an eye out for a Costa Blanca beach that takes your fancy.
