Sitting in the southern United States, explore the capital of Georgia with our holidays to Atlanta. There are some fabulous historic sites and landmarks to check out across the city, along with plenty of great culture. Start off your sightseeing at Pemberton Place, which has some of Atlanta’s best attractions all within close proximity to each other. Learn more about the history of one of the world’s most famous brands at the World of Coca-Cola, before heading over to the CNN Centre and Studio Tour for a behind the scenes peak at this massive news station. Afterwards make your way to the Georgia Aquarium, which offers the chance to swim with a whale shark as you gain even greater respect for this gentle monster of the deep. If you’re interested in history then the Martin Luther King, Jr. National Historic Site is an absolute must-visit. The site gives you the opportunity to visit the house where the iconic figure was born, the church where he preached, and his grave, as well as to spend some time learning about his incredible life at the museum. Head to the Atlanta Cyclorama to discover more about the Civil War, where there’s a huge painting that depicts the Battle of Atlanta, before moving on to the Atlanta History Center where you can see the biggest collection of Civil War memorabilia anywhere in the United States. Dip into another aspect of the city’s culture with a trip to the Georgia Dome, where you can watch the Atlanta Falcons NFL team in action or take in a show courtesy of the Atlanta Ballet, one of America’s oldest professional dance companies. Alternatively pay a visit to the Centennial Olympic Park as you make the most of your holiday.
